The Labour Department will implement the "Supplemental Labour Optimization Scheme" in 2023, relaxing the current restrictions on the importation of foreign workers for 26 positions, including sales clerks, waiters, cashiers and telephone operators, etc.
This includes contract documents, 988A, 988B, ID407E, online submission of supplementary documents, entry visas for newly hired foreign domestic helpers, etc.
Each month, a dedicated person travels to the Philippines to personally select domestic helpers. All selected domestic helpers must undergo rigorous Hong Kong-style professional training.
